In this crazy mixed up world it's hard to get a hold of things at times. There are a billion uncertainties for every possible truth. I'm no better than the next gal at trying to get a hold of things that might never be held down but there are some things I know to be true and certain:
1. I always pick the windiest days to wear skirts. In fact, the windier the better. If there's a wind advisory I head to the ol' closet and pick the skirt that will blow up the best. That's me holding down my skirt and trying to walk at the same time. It's a nice look.
2. I always sit next to that guy on the train. You know that guy. We all know that guy. He's that guy who takes up most of the clearly sectioned seat. He's that guy who insists on sitting with his legs wide apart and not budging even after I "accidently" bump into his widespread legs. He's also that guy who clearly skipped out on the how-to-fold-a newspaper-to-read-in- a-polite-manner-whilst-using-mass-transit class. I like to spread the paper out too buddy, just stick to the couch on Sunday mornings.
3.No matter how many times I correct,chide and explain some people are just gonna call me Susan or be damned. The be damned part usually comes from me. My whole life, in doctor's offices,during interviews,anytime my name is called out by unknown peepsI am Susan. Susan is a great name, I like it. I know people named Susan and they are good people. It's a lovely name. It just isn't mine.

I hear you on points two and three.
My least favorite question about my name, "Cinnamon, huh? What should I call you for short?" Cinnamon. I know it's three whole syllables, but if you're over the age of three you should be able to say it. Calling me Canela if your primary language is Spanish or Italian is also fine, but only if you ask first. And that is three syllables, too.

I don't think it get's easier if you have a short name either, My name is Maria. The most common name in the world, there are millions and millions of Marias out there, nothing special with the name Maria,not fancy way saying it or anything.
I live in the UK for now,and it seems that it's impossible for people to say it. I'm now called Marie, Marie, and that is one of my least favourite names in the world (mean kid in school called marie)...
