starting to get vacationed out
alright, so i'm getting a little bored now. i knew it would happen, but i really wanted to have a summer mostly comprised of nothingness. i think the boredom has set in because these past 3 days have been in stark contrast to the previous 10 days where i went back to the east coast. never have i had a trip back home that was so full of stuff. first of all, khalid and i found a church to get married in. i originally wanted to get married outside at our reception site, but getting married is all about compromise, right? anyway, we found a really beautiful church in DC and i'm actually pretty excited about it. another perk being that we won't have to worry about the weather cooperating.
with the church taken care of, i was free to spend the rest of the week visiting friends and family. i went up to philly to see andrea and took the train back. man, do i love the train. it's just so calming. then i had a mini college reunion, and i capped the rest of my time away with a visit to new orleans to see shokufeh, sam, and the most beautiful child in the world. i was so touched that he had a name for me - neesh. yeah, okay, it doesn't sound like meisa, but at least he was consistent about it. i started to get all excited thinking about the day that my kids spend summers with shokufeh's kids, just like we used to do when we were younger.
anyhoo - i'm back now and am finding myself a little bored. but i guess i should enjoy it while it lasts. i've got to head to work the middle of next week for our 2 and a half week long summer institute. so only 6 more days of lounging!
