move on over, martha
last nite i completed my 3rd purse. it took two days of sewing time, but many more days and nites of thought. this time, i didn't use a pattern. i just made it up. it was like a puzzle trying to figure it all out, so much fun!. i had to leave lab early yesterday because i couldn't stop thinking about it and just had to work on it. and my hard work payed off! this one is a little more tote like, but not bad for my first non-patterned project. note the little cell phone pocket...a key component of any purse.

Very nice! What materials did you use?

LOVE the purse. i made one a few years ago and it was really fun. yours looks so sturdy! i'm impressed. have you ever quilted? i'm thinking of starting.

i don't really know what the material is, maybe a stiff cotton of some sort. i got it from the remnants section at vogue. i'd like to learn to make sturdier bags. i tried out chipboard on a clutch i made, but cinnamon tells me that gets wet and ruined. any other suggestions? if only i could get in kate spade's mind!
i quilted once years ago. never finished it. i sewed the entire front of it, then it came time to put it together. still haven't gotten there yet. i think they are too large scale for me.

And where will you be selling such a thing, for lots and lots of money?

she will be selling her line of products at our froo-froo hippy-dippy store. we are opening as soon as we stock-pile enough merchandise. it may take years.

yes, everyone is welcome to join in on stocking our shope. maybe then it will only take 6 years instead of 18.
