i passed a yard today with an advertisement for a candidate running for some sort of local office:
Vote Timothy NIMROD!!!!
doesn't this man realize that with a name like that, unless 5th graders are voting, he's never going to win?

:) And how's this for the headline I found when I googled his name: FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) lodge backs Nimrod for 9th subcircuit judge. I'd back him for a name change. Oh and he's in the whitepages too.

I actually met Tim Nimrod today outside a polling place. He's a pretty nice guy with an unforgettable name! I think however that he's a long-shot in a race with so many candidates endorsed by various Democratic organizations. Anyhow, a guy with a name like "Obama" may end up being the next junior senator from Illinois. Voting in Chicago sure is fun!

yeah, i thought for sure that obama was screwed with a name so close to osama, but i guess chicago voters can look past the name!

Three weeks after the Illinois primary, the results are clear. In landslides, "Obama" is the Democratic nominee for senator, "Ryan" is the Republican nominee (noteworthy achivement, he's divorced from Jeri Ryan, the hot blonde from the TV show "Boston Public"), and "Nimrod" remains a lawyer since he lost the election big time!
