question...

what does one do with the pictures? take them down, put them in a box, pretend that part of your life never existed? no, i don't think i can do that. i never want to let go of that part of my life. throw them away? no, i know i can't do that. i've always been superstitious about throwing pictures out. i've just kind of thought that harming a picture was like harming the person. so i never throw them away. even the one of me camping from this summer where i just ran into the picture before the automatic timer went off and it looks like i just sat down to find that i crapped in my pants. but i digress. do i just leave them up? no, that doesn't seem like a good option either, just painful reminders. so i'm still left with the question, what does one do with the pictures?

meisa--i've never seen the crap-in-your-pants picture!! where has that been all these years? you should post it to your blog so we can all see.

I tend not to put up snapshots in the first place, but I have no real issues taking them down. There is, of course, a middle ground between up on the wall and in the trash: you could put them in a shoebox up on a shelf. Out of sight, out of mind, but not gone for good.

I hear this thought. It hits you when you're moving too, and you find yourself with two or three shoe boxes of pictures that didnt fit in albums or frames...and you can't really *just throw them out*.
