happy new year!
what a great start to 2004...i spent the entire day in my pajamas. i haven't worn real clothes since last year! hah!
last nite i took it fairly easy, as i usually do for new year's eve and worked on my latest knitting project. i'm more of a scarfer just cause it's easy and straight. but i was inspired by lacey and cinnamon to expand my knitting horizons and work on a hat without my grandmother being around to help. well, i finished it as the last moments of 2003 were waning away. comments from the critics:
"it's a little big, don't you think?"
"that's a hat for a giant. it could fit hagrid."
"it kinda looks like a steering wheel cover. a steering wheel cozy, if you will."
"you look like mushmouth from fat albert. obekaybe."
needless to say, i've moved back on to the scarf.

Hahahaha hilarious! What kind of pattern did you use? You should get the Knit Girls book.

yes i definately should. the pattern i used obviously wasn't good enough. i blame the pattern entirely, not me. :)

Did you measure your knitting to make sure it was matching to the gauge asked for? If it did, then next time I see you, bring the pattern and I'll fix it for you. If your gauge doesn't match the pattern gauge, then rip it apart and redo it with a different size needle that gives you the right gauge.

so the yarn didn't say anything about gauge. the yarn lady and i looked all over the packaging and found nothing. maybe that's the problem. if i undo the hat, will the yarn still be in okay knitting shape?
