it's not easy being green
today my reaction turned green. my cousin shokufeh would tell me this is what i deserve for working on a saturday when it is 75 degrees outside with no clouds to be seen. maybe she is right.
i find it to be very counterintuitive that green is such a bad sign in chemistry. oh sure, there are "good" greens, but overall green doesn't bode well. it seems that green is the color of newness and prosperity. why then does my reaction turn green when it goes bad?
maybe this is an omen to move from the bad green occuring in the lab to the beautiful green outside.

Yes, that is indeed what I would tell you. Maybe not that you exactly deserve it, but maybe that it's nature's way of telling you something.
I know it's bad and everything, but I hope it was at least a pretty shade of green.

well, it was supposed to be orange and then turned green and slowly became more black. you can imagine this transition was not attractive. but, better than today when i got acid on my nose. i don't really know how i managed this one. maybe nature really is telling me to stay out of the lab on the weekends!
