I knew around Thursday of last week that I needed the weekend "off:" no trainings, no classes, nothing to organize, nothing related to work, nothing too scheduled. Instead I watched movies on TV, cleaned, hung out with friends, took a million photos, slept (somewhat), ate out, laughed, enjoyed beautiful weather, knit, and played volleyball (I know it looks full, but was actually very relaxing).
One note: yesterday I (finally) visited Millennium Park and there could not have been a more perfect day for such an activity--beautiful sky, poofy clouds, the quintessential Chicago summer day (we have 5 such days every year, and they usually fall on a weekend). I think it's worth the $475 million the thing cost just to see so many happy people in one place. I would love to go during sunset some day soon so I can see what that's like reflected in "Cloud Gate" (provided the sun comes through the buildings, of course). All those beautiful kids playing in the water was just the best...if you haven't gone, go. I'll be going back sooner rather than later.

Posted by: ez on August 9, 2004 01:26 PMcome to think of it, i was there on saturday also!
Posted by: kari on August 9, 2004 02:06 PMYou know, someone came into my office earlier and she was there yesterday. There were so many people there on Sunday though I wouldn't be surprised if there were tons of people I knew there, I just never ran into them. Ha.
I *was* going to go on Sat. if it's of any consequence...but I specifically wanted to take pics, and it was too cloudy. I'm glad I waited!!
