I was blessed this weekend with Charla's car, and we all know what that means...IKEA! Mojan, Eric, Aaron and I all made the pilgrimage yesterday morning with visions in our heads of purple walls, chairs, bookshelves, and television benches. We were mostly successful. If you've never been to an IKEA store, it's quite the experience. They have escalators for the shopping carts. Click here for still-image demonstration (popup).
Also this weekend I viewed "Saved" at the incredibly expensive and trafficky area known as Piper's Alley here in Chicago. Despite the expense (known as "parking"...now I remember why I don't have a car), the movie was hilarious and I am impressed. It's a good rainy-day flick, and is just over the top enough that religious folks won't get offended (hopefully...or...well, anyways).

Do only unmarried people get linked? Tee hee.

Posted by: lacey on June 1, 2004 02:05 PMIKEA was, not kidding, one of the places we went on our trip to Chicago. We needed their crispy chocolate cookies, a few pillows, and to smell that lovely IKEA wood/cardboard odor.
Yay, IKEA!
Posted by: Paul on June 1, 2004 03:30 PMSaved! was good. Good enough that I'll probably get on DVD. It's been a while since there's been a decent teen comedy with some meat.
Posted by: Naz on June 1, 2004 03:47 PMYeah, I made a trip to Chicago from Bedford, IN just to go to the IKEA store. Even stayed the night at a hotel nearby. That place is ridiculously busy and it is so much easier just to go down to the warehouse level and shop from there.
And yes, the shopping cart escalators are amusing.
Posted by: filmmaker on June 2, 2004 10:20 AMWow, what an awesome group of people. You have some pretty cool friends.
Posted by: Aaron on June 2, 2004 01:22 PMSome of my cool friends have blogs, and some don't...but I'm working on maintaining the image of "cool" for the friends who *had* blogs. I'm nearly done reaming you out for this, you know. ;)
Posted by: lacey on June 2, 2004 03:13 PMi was momentarily tremendously impressed by whoever was the owner of the living room in the 2nd photo, thinking this was the "before the trip to Ikea" shot. then i realized it was a "during the trip to Ikea" shot. doh!
Posted by: kari on June 2, 2004 03:17 PMWhy did she stop doing her blog? And does she have another email address?
Posted by: Elizabeth on June 2, 2004 08:12 PMAaron, of aaronemmel.com, used to have a blog, but he abandoned ship after a week. Something about it taking up too much time...
Posted by: lacey on June 3, 2004 09:27 AMOh, well where did Sania's blog go?
Posted by: Elizabeth on June 4, 2004 11:43 AMShe's taking a little break, I believe, but she's doing good :)
Posted by: lacey on June 4, 2004 12:14 PMOkay. Good. I got her wedding invitation (which is absolutely gorgeous!) and wanted to tell her, but I went to her website and found that it was gone, then went to email her and it was returned to me. Then you were talking about someone giving up weblogging, so I thought she might have gone into hiding or something.
Posted by: Elizabeth on June 4, 2004 09:29 PMA little off-topic but just wanted to say I liked the layout of the site
