As promised, here's the next incarnation of "Backbiting." I got really excited when I was working on the flames and skulls, to see how the gold ink played off this kind of boring color of red I mixed. It's hard to see, but there is a GUY (I know!) in the background with an open mouth, and skulls and flames are pouring out, similar to the girl in the front.
So a few details about this one: it's 18x24", watercolor and ink. These are *really* bad pictures because of the shadow of my camera on there (I tried to burn it out, but at 400 pixels, it is kind of hopeless) and the dim lighting, but there is a lot of metallic ink on here, both gold (in the flames) and then the cooler colors on the girl's face and the background. After being so excited about the flames, I started another one that I plan on calling "my own personal hell" which is kind of a joke (no worries). More to come!

Both are made-up folks. I just thought that it's about time I started painting men. More of that on the way, of course.
Maybe it would be fun to just do a huge page of flames and skulls. I really liked painting that part. We'll see what kind of free time I have coming up (I kid).
