If I had a personal assistant, they would be in charge of the following items:
March 24, 2004

  • Acquiring new music for me to listen to and making sure I don't listen to the same mp3s over and over and over
  • Finding weekend evening venues that are atmospheric, with a low cover, not to "drunk," and are easy to get to via public transport
  • Keep me well-stocked with fruit
  • Search for cheap plane tickets to places that I might want to go
  • Making a schedule of shows I should go see in Chicago and make sure I actually go to them
  • Headhunter responsibilities
  • Making cute care packages for friends not in the area and...
  • Utilizing the post office
  • Making sure I am up on my social etiquette
  • Laundry..oh, God the laundry...
  • Strategizing my retirement

(Alternate names for this list: "List of things I wish I were better at/had more time for" or "If I had two of me, the other me would do these things")

Personal assistants generally don't do laundry. You'd need a maid for that (though, if you can afford the former, you could swing the latter).

#1, 3, 5 are a full time job for me.

Good fruit can be hard to find in the winter.

hilarious, lacey! now, i'm thinking of my own list. i've often thought, if i only made twice as much money i could hire a second me to do the things i let slip by. i think one way you could get your laundry done by a personal assistant is to have it all dry cleaned, seems like the personal assistants i've known were always at the dry cleaners.

Juggling is fun, right? If you had 2 of you, then I would think the other would be too busy doing her own things to bother with you. :(
