I know how you feel, Lacey. I loooove Dolly Parton and everyone thinks I'm crazy. I sense a theme here: Alanis=ton of hair and annoying voice, Dixie Chicks=ton of hair and annoying voices, and DOLLY the Queen of ton of hair/annoying voice. Viva la obnoxious female musicians with enough hair to cover ten bald heads!

While I can live w/o the DC's, I'll admit they're good at what they do and have quite the fanbase.

As for Michelle Branch...at least she writes her own material (which is more than can be said for a lot of people) and isn't a record company tailored image (Avril Lavigne who gets a free pass in my book only 'cause Butch Walker is gonna produce some of her next tunes). She's ok in my book and her tune on the new Santana CD is rumoured to be pretty good.

And oddly enough the new Matchbox Twenty CD is good from the first through the last track.

Oooo...Matchbox 20 gets ranked with 3rd Eye Blind in my category of "bands that wrote songs that drove me insane in 1997." That's a shame, too, because I think they (MB20) are probably decent musicians. But I just can't...do...it...ack!

3EB can go play in traffic for all I care. That band has written songs that have grated on my soul for the entire time I've been aware of them. MB20 on the other hand...while I can tire of them at times, they're far better than 3EB in my book. And I figured not listening to the radio and having an obscenely large CD collection helps me offset any MB20 annoyance I might have.

I thought about writing how I feel about Matchbox 20, but I don't want to offend anyone.

No please, enlighten us! And Krude--I think that NPR is a good radio staple to make you forget about the other junk out there. I still haven't heard Cristina Aguilera's Drrrty songs...frankly the idea sickens me...
