Youth Desk Coordinator for the National Teaching Committee

  • Managed content and designed 12 issues of Fertile Field magazine online (4 issues per year), www.fertilefield.org, including 1 issue in print.
  • Directed efforts to launch www.bahaiyouth.com (an international website for Bahá’í youth and their peers). Over 16,000 unique visitors worldwide were logged in the first 5 weeks (site launched in February, 2004). Currently directs all content for the site.
  • Regularly contributed articles and photography to The American Bahá’í, a monthly newspaper mailed to every Bahá’í in America.
  • Contributed academic papers on web technology and the Millennial Generation to two academic conferences.
  • Delivered dozens of presentations on youth, technology, and Bahá’í topics at local events, academic conferences, and Bahá’í youth conferences to diverse audiences.
  • Provided monthly expert study and strategic advice on youth to/on behalf of the National Teaching Committee, the primary research committee of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States.
  • Jointly directed activity of two office interns and 8 regular off-site volunteers.
  • Maintained formal office correspondence and acted as a liaison between grassroots youth and the nationally-based Institutions.
  • Planned youth program at Bahá’í National Convention for 2 years for over 100 youth total, planning transportation, meals, formal and informal activities.
