Hurdling

I always have this problem when I come back from a trip - clearing the hurdle of blogging again after so long.

So, in the spirit of hurdling, I present to you things that didn't make me hurl while traveling. Actually I don't hurl, but my point is, this stuff was mmm, mmm, good:

  • Korean BBQ plate at Alice and Friends, probably my favorite restaurant in Chicagoland
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables from the Evanston Farmers' Market - blueberries, plums, peaches, cucumbers...
  • Nan-e-barbari, brought by Ameh from Virginia, topped with feta (pasteurized, of course)
  • My mom's meatless Ghormeh Sabzi and tofu Fesenjan with polow and tadikh
  • Decaf cafe au lait and beignets at Cafe du Monde - twice
  • Gumbo z'herbes and creole-style black-eyed peas at the Gumbo Shop
  • Pluots from Whole Foods
  • Oh, yeah, forgot one:

  • Fresh chickpeas, boiled - they tasted like a cross between edemame and artichokes

Next time you schedule a gastronomic tour of the US, can I come?

I'm glad you don't hurl. And also that you found fun things that don't make you hurl. =)

Re: the hurdle of blogging when you get back...I hear you loud and clear. Glad you're back, though!

You've got my mouth watering with that pic of my beloved beignets and cafe au lait (as you know, my husband's family is from New Orleans), not to mention thoughts of veggie ghormeh sabzi and golden tadikh (my best friend is Persian). Sounds like the perfect trip!
