Last night, I finished the second gift I was making for our nieces. Since all of our nieces are seven or younger, and these two gifts are for the two youngest, I think I can post them here without fear that they'll stumble across the pictures, blowing the surprise.
I've been working on this quilt - my first - for months. It's not that it was hard. But I can only work on it for so long in one sitting. And, then, whenever I would need to start the next stage, I would be stricken, for a little while, with fear that this was the point at which I would screw things up. I think it turned out pretty okay, though. And I tried to make it fun enough and large enough that she won't outgrow it too soon.

This apron took considerably less time - just a few hours. It's for our 3.5 year old niece who apparently has taken a liking to cooking shows. I hope she likes it. We'll find out this weekend.

I would like to say that I made the quilt in the background. But a dear friend batiked and quilted it for our wedding.

Have burning need to sew.
Sooooooooo cute! And inspiring. I need to get over my paralyzing fear of the sewing machine. I have a bag of cool fabrics just begging to be used.
