Vocabulary lesson

I thought I'd share my new-found knowledge.
I just learned a word that you think I would already know, since it's a synonym for fever: pyrexia.
The related adjectives are pyrexial and pyrexic.
Pyretic is an adjective for what's causing the fever.
As in, My Strep infection was pyretic.

could you say "i have a pyrexia" like you would "i have a fever"? or would it be "i have pyrexia"?

Couldn't find your e-mail address so I sent google looking for you. Happy 30th!

Just finished class about a 1/2 hour ago, so I'm kind of exhausted right now. (Today was Restoration colonies, slavery and the Caribbean sugar colonies, and the Carolinas. Cool, if sobering, stuff.)

Anissa, I was pretty excited when I realized the Pyrex connection, though it took me until last night, when I was saying the word aloud that I noticed it.
