I hate it when I do this - wait so long between entries that I feel this pressure to say something profound. But I've got to write something, or the pressure will build to unmanagable proportions. So I will say this....
Sometimes I scare myself. I'll be walking down the street and see someone with toenails extending a good half-inch or more past their nail bed, and I'll think, I wish I had my nail clippers with me. Even if we're talking about the ten-foot-long variety of clippers, there is something a bit too compulsive about wanting to groom the dirty feet of strangers. Even if I am more focused on the end product of tidy nails rather than the process of getting them that way.
Posted by Shokufeh at March 28, 2003 02:17 PMDude, that is gross. Feet are just gross. I think feet are the worst looking part of the human body. There are so few people with nice feet. And even then, they're still feet, therefore still lingering just outside the vicinity of gross. The only exception is babies. Babies' feet are cute. Babies' everything are cute.
The worst part about feet are the toes. If it weren't for the toes, feet wouldn't be too bad. And the worst thing about toes is painted toenails. It's like putting a ribbon on a wart to try to make it look nicer. It's still a wart. No ribbon, no matter now pretty, is gonna make the wart look any less wart-like. (My apologies to all the ladies with painted toenails; hope you do not take personal offense)
There should also be rules about wearing sandals. You should only be allowed to purchase open-toed shoes if all your toes are pointing in the same direction. And no piggy-backing either.
Oh, and the worst angle to view a foot from is when someone has their feet up on the coffee table or something and you're looking straight ahead at the bottom of their feet, and the bottom of their toes end up looking like little balls from this perspective. Oooo, and when people fan their toes... aaaaarrgggh! Toes are not supposeed to have horizontal movement. Vertical movement only!
All right, sorry about the foot-ranting. I admit that I am a disturbed individual in this respect. It's out of my system now.
