Posted by George at October 19, 2006 11:24 PMI was thinking more of the Passive RFID tags which don't transmit and therefore would not be so easy for criminals to get without having a reader to send the signal that powers up the tag to send back the data. This article on Passive RFID says the passive ones only transmit a few feet. :( The active ones are huge and require batteries, so they would not fit the ID model. Eh.... It was an idea without really researching it thoroughly.
