Travel Bulletin

Alright party people. Southwest is running some mad specials to Florida, $39 to $79 one way, 14-day advance purchase. Check it out to see if there's a departure city near you. Orlando is your destination. Remember: May 15 is the Return to Flight Shuttle launch. Get on the stick!

Screw it, I'll drive. How far is it again?

700 miles from Knoxville. Mapquest quotes 11.5 hours. Some may say, "That depends on how fast you drive." What it really depends on is whether or not you hit Atlanta at rush hour, how many stops you make, and whether you choose to come through Jacksonville or Orlando. Say 12 hours, give or take. That's a solid day of driving each way. My personal rule is that you must spend at _least_ as much time at your destination as you spend getting to/from there. That means you'll need four days off, Scopi. Not to mention you should arrive on the day of the launch (Sunday), fully prepared for a weeklong delay to see it off.
