Coincidence

heart.JPG

Snapped this photo yesterday at the freshmarket. The sunlight reflected off an ashtray and split itself neatly around a corner of brick. It's the stuff of poetry, and people just walked right past, too busy to notice. I don't know which of the three saints is responsible for this little heart, but the omen is well received. I'm finished with my past bitterness regarding being single on this holiday. Spring is just around the corner, and love is in the air. Can you feel it?

georgie, this is your own, more-perfect version of that poetic scene in american beauty... it's so true that beauty surrounds us, and most people walk by without even noticing. so thanks for capturing and sharing... and yes, spring is coming. we all know that's a way better time to find love than the random freaking middle of february. :)

Thank you, Lacey. I am quite a catch if I do say so myself. Oh, wait...you were talking about the picture...

Nas, to call my vision more perfect than American Beauty is a sure path to flattery. Which gets you everywhere with me. Hee hee! I must agree with you on the Spring part. The Romans would too, as Lupercalia marked the official (if not meteorological) beginning of spring on the ides of February (as in, "Beware the ides of March"...anybody?). And some say the Christian St. Valentine's Day was plopped on the 14th to overshadow the 'pagan' festival. I say who wouldn't want to be slapped with bloody strips of sacrificed goat?

I must be in sync with spring in the southern hemisphere, love tends to find me in the fall

sweet!! I am jealous that you have a broad enough vision to catch these. I tend to go through life with tunnel vision, only seeing what I need to (school books, laundry, work). Argh! Keep up the good work. Love the blogs. One last thing. Where do you find the time???? Be cool buddy...

Paul, it's called "not having cable."
