so much
There are at least 27 topics I have floating around in my head at the moment. They seem to cycle through themselves, seamlessly transitioning from one to the next and then back around again. Some are mundane, some are profound, and some are painful to think about. Most of these topics are in question format, like:
How can so precious a life be taken so suddenly from this world when it has such a positive impact?
Why do some people feel entitled to be mean, as though it is their natural-born right?
How can I be more creative in my everyday life?
What do I want to do today to share some love with a friend who needs it?
Why are we so fascinated by celebrity gossip?
And on, and on.
At some point, I imagine these questions will find their way into a post or two. We'll see.

So strange. My friend Erin made me a batch of Friendship Bread for me to enjoy during my cross-country road trip. It's absolutely fantastically amazing. I think I actually fainted upon first bite, which is dangerous when you're driving.

I'm not sure we're fascinated by "celebrity" gossip, per say -- I think we're just fascinated by GOSSIP, period.
And because we grow up watching celebrities on TV and in movies, we feel like we know them and have a right to discuss all the private details of their lives.
Just like we unfairly discuss the private details of the lives of our friends, families, co-workers...
Unfortunately for celebrities, because they have so much exposure and people all over the world feel like they "know" them and have a right to their private lives -- they get talked about way more than the rest of us.

Friendship Bread:

You only need to make the live yeast starter if you are the first person doing this. If someone else gave you a starter, then skip that step and follow the rest of the instructions.
I intend to give one of the portions to my daughter, letting her make a batch. I have not yet decided who will get the other two portions, but I suspect I will keep one for me, in order to allow me to expand this a bit.

Some of my proposed answers, interspersed:
How can so precious a life be taken so suddenly from this world when it has such a positive impact?
-We exit this world with as much predictability as we entered it. Some of us are complete surprises, while others are fully planned and expected.
Why do some people feel entitled to be mean, as though it is their natural-born right?
-It is a natural-born right to be mean. But being mean is a right of the lower-self, and far too few of us have empowered our higher self to make such natural rights subservient to our supernatural rights.
How can I be more creative in my everyday life?
-If you knew the answer to this question, you wouldn't be asking it. :P
What do I want to do today to share some love with a friend who needs it?
-Do what my friend Nik did for me today -- give someone some Friendship Bread Starter.
Why are we so fascinated by celebrity gossip?
-Because gawking at the lives of celebrities allows us to wallow in the mundaneness of our own lives and still think somehow we have it better.
Please post your own answers!
