Dear Nikon N70,
I will miss you. I will miss the way you feel in my hand, your weight, your shiny blackness, your curves. I love the way you see the world. I have to say, we have had some good times together! We've seen the Grand Canyon, Maui, the southern California coast, Florida, NYC, Long Island, North Carolina, and so much more! You were even there when I had my very first published photo. Sigh... I hope you are doing well, nestled into your little bag. Maybe we will get together again someday.

moj and glenn - yeah, i guess i wasn't really clear. we did get the new d80, with which i am SO happy! it was a little gift from steve to me/us. his photographic skill is pretty good too, and this allows him to experiment a lot without the high cost of development. very cool.

and lay-c... maybe next year will create opportunity or need for me to have an ipod. but for now, i'm good. ;-)

is the n70 farewell because, by chance, you have replaced it with a d-XXX camera that still lets you use all your favrotire Nikon lenses?
If so, I hate you in that envious, wish I could be you kind of way. (Except for the whole lifetime with Steve part. Although he sounds like a really great guy, I don't think I could re-orient that much -- even for a digital SLR!)
