wtf!

Dear Building Management,

At 7:25 this morning, LOUD hammering was ringing - nay, rocking - through the halls of the building. In fact, my whole apartment was shaking. Maybe a 2.0 on the Richter.

Not okay.

Construction noise should not EVER be heard before 8:30am. EVER!

And this was after I waited for 5 hours yesterday for a new refrigerator to be delivered - only, it was never delivered. How interesting. (Where interesting = annoying.)

However I may assist you in resolving these issues, please let me know.

Your disgruntled but forgiving tenant,
Delara

There is so much construction going on in Shanghai right now. Just about every other day (Saturdays and Sundays included just as much as any other day) I am woken up by pounding hammers (occationally jackhammers) and various other construction noises before 7 am.

I think we should start a campaign and call it...."Consideration Cupcakes" I also have tales of obscene noise levels that occur way to early in the morning and have found them all to be VERY inconsiderate. Tale one:no joke, about a month ago the U.S. Military was doing frickin' munitions testing in the frickin' ally right behind my frickin' open window, that I sleep by at 5 frickin' AM!!! I woke up, looked out the window and was literally seeing bright flashes of light about 25 feet in the air followed by a building shaking explosion. This went on for about 10 damn minutes!!! tale two) garbage pick-up at 7 A.M. or earlier. They come around with that truck that lifts the whole steel dumpster into the air, and instead of gently and politly setting it back down, just frickin' launching them through the air striking the ground, probably rolling a good 25 ft, then grabing it again and SLAMMING them into the ground. Standing next to a jet engine is quieter, I've tested it just to reassure myself that this is WAY to out of control and loud for that time of the morning. 3rd and final story)a building is being built in my family room, oops, I mean across the street, but seriously, there's no diffrence. Every morning, jack hammers in my frickin' earhole 7 AM-ish, trucks, cranes, oh god, the misery. SO. "Consideration Cupcakes" We could all make them, dress them up real pretty like in nice happy frosting and hand them out to the people that have forgotten about the other 5.999 billion other people on earth that DON'T appreciate thier loud asses with a nice little poem included with each happy cupcake reminding these people to be frickin' considerate of personal noise generated before certain hours. Let's do it.

all y'all made me laugh, and i needed it. :) thanks, pals!

dan... hahaha! nothing puts things in perspective like a hitchhiker's reference... ;)

Hammering at 7:30 AM is better than getting your planet blown up to make way for a hyperspace bypass.

Hammering at 7:30 AM is much worse than mucho intoxicated girls getting thrown into a pool and screaming at the tops of their lungs at 4AM.

Boo for loud noises early in the morning! But hey, you got your fridge today, so it's all good. As long as no one breaks out the hammer again.
