maui
A few beautiful scenes from Maui. It is so difficult for me to choose just a few images from the hundreds I took to convey the essence of what it was like for me to be in such an amazing part of our world.
I gotta do this in increments. There is just so much to share! Little by little the story will unfold...

why thank you, kind sir. :) i loved being there like you cannot imagine. it really calls to me. and it's rather hard to take less-than-amazing photos with such rich scenery. ah yes... i can hear the sound of the waves gently lapping onto the beach now.

These pictures are amazing. Absolutely. I've heard a great deal about how great Hawaii is, but man. This is more than I could've imagined. That last image is suberb. The winding path curving off into the unknown, with all that is beautiful and unfamiliar somewhere in the distance. Nicely done.

why thank you, sir. :) actually, the last one is one of my favorites, and believe it or not i was holding the camera parallel to the horizon. the crazy angle is one side of haleakala - the big mountain atop which is a volcanic crater. neat, eh?

Waaaaaiit a second, how did I miss this entry? These are phenomenal! As beautiful as the blue water is in the first one, I really like the last three. The black volcanic rock is a powerful contrast to the water and vegetation. Those waterfalls look like something out of a dream. And the mottled pavement and tufts of grass in the last one make it feel like an impressionist painting. Not to mention I love the angle of the composition. Good show, D!
