babies!

I love that I can grow things. Plants, plans, ideas, art projects, relationships, babies, etc. But most of all plants - there is something insanely satisfying about caring for a plant and watching it grow, bloom, and develop. Especially sensitive plants, like orchids or African violets.

So... you can imagine my absolute delight when, about a week ago, I noticed that my orchid (my baby really) bloomed two whole new stems with flower buds on them! YIPPEEE! I thought it had died - seriously! I'm so excited!! I can't wait to see their delicate little petals come out and dazzle everyone at the office. Woohoo!

We live in exciting times, I tell you.

Ok. I'm done sharing now. Hee hee.

Delara, if I were a flower, I'd be an orchid. As an orchid, it is heartwarming to hear someone say they love caring for one. As someone who has also tried to keep an actual orchid alive, I praise your ability to actually grow a new shoot. It's really hard and takes a great deal of patience. I love your weblog (Bahiyyih gave me the info) - You are so fun and I love your sense of humor! Love, Layli

Can you come over and revive my bamboo??

i feel the same way about my christmas cactus, a baby of my mother's at home. my roommate has come home many a time to me sitting there, staring at it, inspecting it, willing it to flower, touching its leaves, and just loving it in general. fortunately she has gotten used to me by now. but i think all my love works...5 new buds!

i hope so too.

I hope this is foreshadowing, Mrs. Rapant.
