good better
I need to vent about one of my recent pet peeves.
What is it with "Best" as a closing for a letter or email message? Is it short for "I best be going now" or "With the best regards" or "Best wishes"? And are we really that short on time that we can't write the whole closing out?
Give me a break!
Even I, possibly the world's 10th busiest person, have time to write out "With loving regards" or "Sincerely" for goodness sake!
Anyway, my plea is for people to find more creative ways of closing letters or messages. Exploring replacements for "Dear" at the beginning isn't a bad idea either.
Best,
Delara
(ha ha!)

what? where? how dare you! :) totally kidding... it's quite alright - now and again one needs to use choice words to convey just the right sentiment, damn it! hee hee.

ha ha! i know what you mean, girlfriend! that is SO annoying! tone in correspondence is so important - and one needs to learn how to use words to convey tone. after all, writers and poets have been doing it for YEARS!

and! what's with people closing the rudest e-mail possible with "with loving regards"? i mean, i'm not suggesting one who is frustrated with me go so far as to tell me that in an e-mail. as in:
Dear Kari-who-makes-my-life-at-work-hell:
[body of letter]
piss off,
mr/mrs x
but one shouldn't LIE about the status of one's loving regards!! that's just irritating.
whew -- had to release that one. thanks, delara.

I think that you have a very good point. People think that they are too busy and try to take as many short-cuts as possible. I personally have never done it. lol! rogl! Well, anyway, ttfn.
best,
Rich
