leaves and ladies in chicagoland
I'm spoiled. I get to look out a window pretty much all day when I'm in my office. What's sweetest about that is watching the seasons change right in front of my eyes, literally. From the bare branches in winter (when I can see right into the apartments across the way) to spring's first buds (which are amazing to me) and then fall's stunning colors, it is a gift to watch the transformation throughout the cycle.
Today, in addition to the gorgeous orange and light green, tipped with bright red, there are SWARMS of lady bugs merrily flitting about. There must have been a bloom of them (like the ridiculous midges we had earlier this summer) since we have 70 degree weather today. Which is also AMAZING!
But it is so fun to watch them! They zoom around, get stuck on all kinds of things, and have no qualms about flying right into you if you happen to walking in their flight path. Hilarious!
