something old... something blue
Here's something old a dear friend liked - maybe you will too. It suits my mood at the moment, which is why I am resurrecting it.
Untitled
when i fell to earth,
a heavy thud --
the weight of reality.
which way?
dazed, i winced,
gazed up at the round ivory moon
laughing at me -- mocking moon.
a fallen angel.
i raised my small fist to the heavens
angrily shaking it -- silently
the curses, muffled,
stuffed
way down.
stuck deep.
sigh

Hey kt - "cuted out" was cute! And yeah, I saw me in this too. Somehow. Glad you liked it!
Hey lacey - funny's good. I actually did mean for it to be lighter. I think we all can relate to it on some level. Some days. :)
Hey brotha - I'm so tickled you are reading me! It makes me smile big.

I know this is a serious poem, but it struck me as funny more than anything. The irony of the moon:small fist relationship just seems...funny to me.

I pictured you as the protagonist in this easy to relate to piece and I cuted out!!!
But, poor D, having a down day... If it helps a teeny, tiny bit, you are loved lots & lots :)
