Someday. But for now theres not much to expound upon. So have some more pictures from last Sunday.

Wouldn't it be grand if the amount of joy you feel at the beginning of a year, in those fleeting moments that make up a night of celebration, carried you through the whole year? How does one make that a sustainable resolution? I resolve to feel this happy all year. What? Is that real?
Anyway - Happy Naw Ruz everyone. Whether you start your year gregorically on Jan 1, or today like some of us, here's to another year of growth. (Growth is good).

Still congested and feelin low on the energy spectrum. I finally, however, put two and two together and found a culprit. These havent been seasonal allergies, and it sure as heck isnt a cold. When I was a teenager I developed these annoying pet dander allergies. More and more the pets in our house irked my sinuses and I started taking Claritin regularly. Went to college, ditched the pills. Moved to Chicago, spring came and I found a need for em again, plus a nasal spray.
So really, it is a mix of spring hay fever and pet dander this time around. The pet dander coming in increasingly larger amounts as Lester, my boyfriend's cat, sheds worse by the day. The spring hay fever - everyone I talk to has. Everyone has some form of congestion, some form of puffy eye, runny nose somethin. Ew.
I hate taking allergy pills. I hate taking anything that makes you the least bit drowsy. I wish spring would be here for real so atleast half the attack would go away. And above all else, I wish I could breathe fully.

Who Knew?!
Tuesday night we went to see Rusted Root at Northern Lights. Tuesday it snowed all day long. Tuesday night it was 20 degrees with wind chills making it no degrees. Perfect weather to stand outside and wait for a show (only did that for like 30 minutes...) with a right ear so clogged you mis hear stuff and a cough so much fun you can't breathe at all when you get goin.
Three hours, a lot of dancin, singin, and smiles later - I'm thinkin I may just never hear out of my right side again. I was ok with that though because the show was fan-freakin-tastic.
Wake up the next morning and hadn't felt better in weeks. Whaaa? Shock therapy - loud noises, frigid temps - maybe my system thought I was trying to kill it, so it gave in.
Either way - woo hoo! Feeling better and I got a great concert in.
Dear Congestion,
You're the stupidest thing ever. Please get on your way, now.
Signed,
Abby's sinuses, lungs and right ear canal.
Well happy month of Ala, today is the first full day of fasting, of course I'm starting out with one hell of an ear/throat/headache - but I think I'm finally feeling less ache when I wake up - so tomorrow I may be well again. We hope. Anyhoo - thought I'd take this moment of awake and chill time to update the blogosphere on my recent adventures.
Currrently I'm on an 8-day stretch of workdays, however the last two I had off were quite live music filled and crazy. It was fantastic.
Thursday there was the Ska show at Valentines. All I got to say about that night is 'oh yeah, I still got it!'. I was much more into Ska and that scene in college and loved nothing more than getting out on the floor and skankin it up - sometimes those years seem so far away. Well the punk bands that warmed the crowd were fun, then Westbound Train was faaabulous, then the Toasters were so much crazy fun I found myself dancin on the stage!
The day after brought more good music and dancin! Medeski, Martin and Wood at the Egg. Now, the Egg is that weird Albany landmark everyone knows but has really never been inside of. I, myself, hadn't been inside the Egg since elementary school, I dont think. Combine that with one of the coolest Jam Bands around, and it was an interesting mix. Top that with the fact that I went for free (as an usher) and life just doesnt get sweeter.
Thursday night I skanked it up with the punk rock kids, Friday night I danced the night away to drum solos and whimsicaly long songs with the hippies. I'd like to say that on the third day I rested but that'd just be a lie. I never sleep.
Also on an happy music note - last night on WEQX's (our area's only independent radio station - been a favorite of mine since middle school) Local at 11, they played Monkey Gone Mad! Very exciting to hear your friends on the radio folks, very exciting.
And of course there's Rusted Root next week, where I get to introduce the boyfriend to hippies and my crazy enjoyment of live music. Woooo!
Til next time kids, keep on rockin in the free world. (I never can resist the cheap shot).
