Give us freedom today...
I just wanted to give some props to one of my favorite bands, O.A.R. , for really being in touch with their fan base and giving back to them over and over. It's not just the overwhelming energy and love at the shows, but the thought going into each show, performing new takes on old favorites, adding intros that the fans brought up, combining two songs that were already connected but not yet put together live. Ahhh... you're the best.
Now if you could just come on back to the east shore... I'm startin to feel left out over here...
Happy Ayyam-i-ha!!!
and....
Happy Birthday to my blog mom!.
Joy Joy Joy!
Lately it's been getting pretty crowded in my pocket.
Pocket sized versions of people I love currently living in my pocket:
Chris Carrabba
Jason Mraz
PattiBarnes
Robert Randolph
Ok, and then theres also the mile long list of more transient pocket dwellers.
It is not that I do not love you all on a daily basis. More or less it boils down the the fact that I have not uttered the following in regards to you (yet/recently):
"ooooh I love ______ *", "Everyone needs a ______", "I need a ______ in my pocket."
*(your name here)
Updates to the 'in my pocket' list are considered daily. And quite honestly, with the exception of the Carrabba, the crowd changes all the time. Always a happy bunch though...always.
PSA 1- Good News Folks!!! Nikolas Cassadine did in fact survive the fire on General Hospital. He's really alive! Turns out I can still plan my bedtime directly upon the soap opera I must watch every day.
PSA 2- When taking shampoo bottles from your hotel bathroom... look at them first before acting upon your fit of greed. You want to be sure to end up with shampoo and conditioner, not shampoo and "body lotion". doh.
Well Hello my blog reading world, it's been a full seven days since I've come out to play. I apologize, sincerely, because twas not for lack of blogging material.
So yeah, this past weekend was NEBY Fest. Just one more reason for me to exclaim how much I love my Northeast roots. The fest was superb. There was a perfect mix of engaging of my mind and spirit. Plenty of laughter. Plenty of learning. Plenty of reflection. Plenty o'fellowship and love. Amen.
Last night I went to the best concert ever. Ok ok, the best concert I've been to in awhile. Sometimes I think if I truly love the music, and the musicians truly love what they do, every concert is the best concert ever, period. Anyhow, Robert Randolph and the Family Band are simply amazing in person. And by in person I mean literally four feet or less from them. They took the stage at 9:50 pm, and went til 1 am (I had to bail at 12:30 am though, being an adult with a job and responsibility blows sometimes). The jamming going on last night was superb to the nth degree. Robert Randolph, you're my hero.
Today, I had a bit of a live music hangover, if you will. (and I will). My ears are just now starting to lose the ringing that's been plaguing them all day long, and sleep has tried to take me over many a time today. But if you know me and my love for nights like that in my life.... it's all inconsequential compared to the fire I got burnin for the music I love.
"well get on up and get that groove back in your move"
Yeah, I really don't know how I feel about my google toolbar having hearts in it right now. It's two days before Valentines, Google... and um, this is my Web Browser. Yes, kindly, you block my pop ups and provide me with a search engine at all times, but I really don't remember giving you decorating rights.
It feels like wednesday night... but apparently it is not. I often feel days ahead of actual time. What gives...
Perhaps the world should operate on how you feel about it, rather than all this hours and minutes nonsense.
What's that saying about no man being his own island... psh. whatever.
So, turns out I still utterly despise the treadmill. I'm definetly more of an elliptical kinda girl.
I don't feel myself the past few days and I just can't seem to figure out why, or rather why not.
hmph.
- Wow, you fools sure don't pay me enough for the headaches, tense shoulders, and other miscellaneous crap I deal with all day.
- You ever just miss your teddy bear and blanket all day long?
- Hmm... two dreams with 'rock stars' in one week... to what do I owe the honor dear sub-consious o'mine?
- man, my horoscopes are dumb. I should just stop reading them alltogether, though, lets be honest... I wont.
- oh heck yeah...this will definetly be a wintered in weekend. Accomplishing a few needed items, while spending the majority of the time in sweat pants and under blankets, reading, sipping coccoa and feeling cozy.
- "...and I've got lip shaped pillows, so I'm always being kissed..."
Wasssup Wassup Wassup.
Lay-c.com has been having some technical difficulties. Never fear, however, the ever fabulous Lacey has been hard at work on it. We shall blog again.
Really, nothing of consequence or matter has gone down in the past week and a half since I last played here at lay-c.com. The Knicks won a good game last night. My grandparents have been married for 50 years! Holy bejesssums work is crazy busy. I'm fighting a daily battle to not come home and sleep for an hour or so... and am winning, opting for early bed at 11 sharp. Winter in the Northeastern US still continues to taunt me. Guster is coming to town in March, and thats way happy. Next weekend I'm taking friday and monday off and running away to CT, and thats way way super happy.
and really...that is all.
More blog fixing, updating, and randoming to come.
Love and Biscuits,
Abs
