Still congested and feelin low on the energy spectrum. I finally, however, put two and two together and found a culprit. These havent been seasonal allergies, and it sure as heck isnt a cold. When I was a teenager I developed these annoying pet dander allergies. More and more the pets in our house irked my sinuses and I started taking Claritin regularly. Went to college, ditched the pills. Moved to Chicago, spring came and I found a need for em again, plus a nasal spray.
So really, it is a mix of spring hay fever and pet dander this time around. The pet dander coming in increasingly larger amounts as Lester, my boyfriend's cat, sheds worse by the day. The spring hay fever - everyone I talk to has. Everyone has some form of congestion, some form of puffy eye, runny nose somethin. Ew.
I hate taking allergy pills. I hate taking anything that makes you the least bit drowsy. I wish spring would be here for real so atleast half the attack would go away. And above all else, I wish I could breathe fully.

I'm allergic to cats too. ugh.
But thank God, not dogs. yay!
However, I have other allergies (such as bread) that make my nose run. I feel your pain, m'dear. I didn't breathe clearly for about 5 years before I figured my stuff out. :-D
Posted by: Sholeh at March 18, 2005 03:12 PMI think that I'm developing more allergies as I get older too. Which, I seriously hate. Allergies suck!
Posted by: Doopy at March 19, 2005 10:15 AMI've long been an allergy-sufferer, and also hated taking the medications that would knock me out. A year or two ago, I started taking homeopathic allergy medication, and hooboy! it is great. Relief without the side effects. They have various liquid formulations, targeted toward different kind of allergies, available at health food stores. I find that half the recommended dosage is generally enough, but mostly because there's only so much space under my tongue, which is where you're supposed to release the drops.
Posted by: shokufeh at March 22, 2005 03:16 PMi feel ya, abs. i'm not only allergic to cats, but to a host of flora (grass, flowers, etc.) and to mold and mildew. a list of my environmental allergies takes up pages. so i do claritin and flonase. and that's how i live. oh well... at least i'm not allergic to any food. :)
Posted by: nas at March 24, 2005 10:30 AMDitto on that Nas - I dont think I could live with actual food alergies.
And Shok - definetly something to consider, I may take a trip to the health food store and investigate sometime soon. Thanks.
