2:20 pm and other tv nonsense

Random: Everyday at 2:20 pm my television turns itself on for a total of five minutes. It then shuts itself off. Most days at 2:20 pm I am in my car on my way to work, but lets face it - I'm no model of punctuality- so most days I'm actually just turning off lights and running up the stairs to leave the house at that time. At first this phenomena was quite frustrating as I'd run back to shut the darn thing off (I mean who gave it permission to do that anyway...). Then there came a day that I just happened to be in the same room, and not watching the tv at said time, and found it only to be a five minute daily excersize - no big deal. Thus my television won the battle, and every day at 2:20 pm it does its thing.

Not so Random: It's no secret that one of my favorite ways to unwind is to watch the Mets Rewind on the MSG Network. Also, I'm occiasionally lucky enough to catch an afternoon game on FSNY (Fox Sports New York). As of yesterday, I no longer have the benefit of either of those and it almost makes me laugh. While on the one hand, yes it blows not to be able to watch as much of my favorite teams as I could be, on the other, it's all because of a ridiculous, seemingly endless contract war and that just makes me shake my head and laugh. Mets and Knicks fans suffer enough without not even being able to watch the games. I hope this nonsense gets cleared up soon.

you take away da baseball, I break-a your pinata, capishe?

MSG? As in the stuff that makes brocolli bright green? There's a TV channel for that?

ahhh... right for those of you non-New Yorkers... MSG stands for Madison Square Garden... the most famous (media wise) sports arena in the world. Thus... naming the tv network based off such media popularity simply 'MSG' is actually rational.

What the crunk is that picture?

Also, your TV is hilarious.

I just want to state for the record that I know/knew what MSG was. Only b/c I am a Dave head though.

Also, you're tv is nuts. Also, you rule!

haha... Lacey said Crunk. Sweet.

And um, kids .. did I miss the train on this whole 'head' thing? All of a sudden everyone is a "...-head". Does that make me a Met-head?
Please say no. I mean, is obsessive-fan just too long?

Oh and the picture? That would be a cement truck pinata being blown to bits by my fancy Mets bat. As you may imagine, a moment hard to capture, so some crop-age was involved...alas, nothing's perfect - but I thought it would work well against this entry.

Well, Dave head has been in my vocabulary for awhile, however scatter it maybe. (same with Dead head) But what I really want to know is what's the Rev head business? I mean, what's wrong with O.A.R. fan?

Okay, I'm done now. Have a good day!

Oh yeah... forgot about Madison Square Garden. I should have known -- I was once a New Yorker.
